I just through this web together so you all could see the pictures. I will make it all pretty later! :-)
The first part of the pictures are of Ury. The first few frames are of the Old Ury House. You can tell the difference in the old part of the house and the monstrosity that was added after the death of Captain Robert Barclay Allardice. The House was purchased in approximately 1844 and that was when the new Victorian part was added - which dwarfs the old part of Ury House.
Next are the pictures I took of Allardice Castle. The sun goes down at 3:50pm this time of year, so by the time we got there it was getting dark. I didn't take any pictures of their "Living Area" inside the castle. I didn't feel right about that. I did take pictures of things that seemed to be more of an interest to Allardice's - such as the Great Hall, the big turret, and the Coats of Arms painted on one of the ceilings. Otherwise, I tried to respect their privacy as much as possible. So, there are a limited amount of pictures - but there are some good comparisons to what the Castle looked like in 1970! You can compare the Great Hall to where the Bain's were standing in the old pictures, and you can compare the staircase!
